Andy and Mike's Tick Tock Time Machine

Created by Mike James, Andy Day, Iain Lauchlan

    Directed by Iain Lauchlan
Music and Lyrics by Jamie Ledwith

Following their smash-hit show, Andy and Mike’s… Big Box of Bananas, the dynamic duo brings you another brilliant adventure, and this time they have a time machine!

Andy Day, star of Andy’s Wild Adventures (CBeebies) and BAFTA nominated BBC presenter, stars alongside comedy partner, Mike James. Their trademark infectious energy and their irrepressible sense of fun, promise to make the show a treat for the whole family.

Whilst playing in the garden of their ‘fun pad’ – they discover a door that was locked many years ago by their great, great, great grandfather Wally Bum.  Inside they find his workshop with many inventions and a mysterious Time Machine. The Time Machine sends them on a quest to collect the things they need from the past to help a very Old Andy in the future. Will they make it back to the here and now or be trapped in the mists of a time forever? One thing’s for sure; they haven’t a chance without your help!

Andy and Mike hope you’ll think their show is so good, you will want to travel back in time as soon as you’ve seen it to and see it all over again. Suitable for anyone over three and their families.

    Some Like it Hotter

    Presented by Fresh Glory Productions

Fresh Glory Productions presents The Watermill Theatre production of

SOME LIKE IT HOTTER by Richard Hurford

Welcome to the most surprising comeback in entertainment history.

It's April 2013.  Funny man Jack Lemmon and the incomparable Marilyn Monroe are reunited with Hollywood heart-throb Tony Curtis.   But where exactly are they and what the hell is going on? This fast moving, fantasy comedy whisks the three screen icons back to their most beautiful, sexy and hilarious selves in a once-in-an-(after)-lifetime’s opportunity to rub shoulders with the stars.

Daring dialogue, razor-sharp wisecracks and sparkling musical numbers make a snappy musical comedy that looks wryly at the power of celebrities over the public – both in life and death.

    …now that’s entertainment!

    A Life in Theatre

    Presented by TABS productions

Tabs Productions present A LIFE IN THE THEATRE by David Mamet

Have you ever wondered what goes on backstage before and after a theatrical performance?

A Life In The Theatre is a rare glimpse into the world of actors.

A world which inhabits fluffed lines, missed cues, and disastrous wardrobe malfunctions.

The play looks at the relationship between two actors as they rehearse, prepare for, and perform a season of plays, at a Rep. theatre not unlike Chesterfield!

Robert is a veteran, an old school actor, part of an on - going tradition. Sharing a dressing room with him is John, a young
actor of growing skill and confidence. Offstage, they seemingly have a cordial, relationship, until time passes and it's obvious that the two are pretending as much off stage as on.

Mamet’s 1977 play, which has been described as “a love letter to theatre”, clearly draws on the dramatist’s own early experience as an actor, it is full of an affection and nostalgia for the business and especially the kind of  rep. company to which his two actors belong.

“This is a play peppered with witty insights and devastating one liners. Alongside the laughter there is also a great deal of heart. . A Life In The Theatre is an insight into the life of an actor.”

    Jason Manford

    First world problems

Phil McIntyre Entertainments by arrangement with Lisa Thomas Management proudly presents everybody’s favourite northern comedian, Jason Manford with his brand new tour for 2013.

The show promises to feature a wealth of comedy anecdotes, misunderstandings and audience banter delivered with Jason’s likeable charm and teasingly intelligent wit.

Jason has had a busy time since he was last on the road. After his opera singing turn saw him emerge the winner on Born To Shine (ITV1) Jason put his new found talent into practice joining Alfie Boe on tour prior to a well-received run in the critically acclaimed hit west-end musical Sweeney Todd alongside Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton. However, his comedy bones weren’t completely idle as he enjoyed appearances on QI (BBC Two), Big Fat Quiz of the Year (Channel 4), and Comedy World Cup (Channel 4).
Jason said: “Some of you might think I’ve had a career change what with all the opera and musical theatre I’ve been doing lately. Not a chance, I’m excited to be getting back to what I really love the most – stand up!”
Stand up sets on ‘Live at the Apollo’ (BBC One), ‘Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow’ (BBC One) and ‘The Royal Variety Performance’ (ITV1, 2009) have all helped establish Jason as a nationally known comic, a position which made him the ideal host of ITV’s reality comedy competition, Show Me the Funny. A second series of his hilarious creation ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ (BBC One) aired in 2010, and Jason has hosted ‘Comedy Rocks with Jason Manford’ (ITV1) and been a regular panelist on two series of ‘Odd One In’ (ITV1).
    “Effortlessly entertaining” – Evening Standard
“He's blessed with the sort of laid-back charm and sharp turn of phrase you can't manufacture” – Daily Telegraph
“Manford retains an affably jovial demeanour that makes him warmly enjoyable company.” – Chortle

    Show of Hands

THE “HAND IN HAND” TOUR – AUTUMN 2013

If you haven’t heard of Show of Hands by now, where have you been!
Celebrating a 21 year musical partnership, singer songwriter Steve Knightley and multi instrumentalist Phil Beer have sold out the Royal Albert Hall four times and are triple winners at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards (Best Duo, Best Original Song, Best Live Act). Joined by musical chameleon Miranda Sykes on double bass they have become one of the acoustic roots scene’s major players, widely recognised for their resonating original songs, slick musicianship and audience rapport – featuring on BBC TV’s Countryfile, BBC Breakfast and Andrew Marr shows and regularly played by the likes of Bob Harris, Mark Radcliffe and Simon Mayo.

Following a summer of key UK festival headline appearances and a tour of Germany the genre-defying band return to the UK this autumn for the “Hand in Hand” tour – for the first time ever Steve, Phil and Miranda will be their own support act – performing three songs apiece in the opening set to showcase their myriad individual talents, before joining forces for the unique Show of Hands experience after the interval.

    Paul Foot

Live Nation present Paul Foot: Words

Paul Foot’s recent shows and tours have garnered a string of 5 star reviews and successive Barry Nominations at the Melbourne Comedy Festival.  Described by Chortle as “Inspired, surreal and incomprehensibly funny”, he is a true original, challenging comedic convention at every turn and delighting his connoisseurs. A BBC New Comedy Award and Daily Telegraph Open Mic winner, most recent UK TV credits include ”8 Out 10 Cats” Channel 4, “Never Mind The Buzzcocks” BBC2, “The Alternative Comedy Experience” Comedy Central and “Russell Howard’s Good News” BBC3.

    www.paulfoot.tv.

"It's baffling to me that Paul is not a household name in this country.  His routines are like jazz clusters, loose hammocks, choked to the brim with jokes and ideas" Noel Fielding

“One of the highlights of this year’s Fringe…. Will leave your sides sore and your face wet with tears without every really fully appreciating why.“  Edinburgh Evening News *****

“Best comedy show at Adelaide Fringe 2013. Genius” Rip It Up

    “Unobtrusively masterful stuff” The Scotsman
“Utterly twisted alternative comedy unlike anything else you are likely to see.”                   The Sydney Morning Herald *****

“Foot’s control of intonation and cadence is masterful, the tone and pitch of his voice providing the laughs. There is nothing random about Foot’s surrealism; it is studied and controlled. It is, frankly, sublime”. Fest Magazine *****

“Not exactly Danny Bhoy… is it? The List ”****
“It may not be for you if you're expecting comedy like you've ever seen it before. This stuff is truly alternative, and the show was quite simply one of the best I've ever seen in Edinburgh over the past few years….. A brilliant performer, with an expertly crafted set, I left the room with a sense I'd experienced something incredibly special. I don't think you could ask for much more. True alternative comedy at it's very best.”  British Comedy Guide *****

“Foot is simply the best comedian I have ever seen - and the most difficult to describe. Reviewing convention dictates I can only give him five stars, but his insane genius deserves at least six.” Melbourne Age *****

“Subversive and surreal ... like a cult classic, a relic from the past, a rare exotic bird, he’s special.”  The Daily Express *****

“One of the most ingenious nights of comedy you’ll ever see” The Herald Sun *****

“It’s impossible to describe what Paul does, it’s like trying to strangle mercury.... in an all too predictable comedy universe, Paul Foot orbits his own planet. Fantastic.”
    The Daily Mirror *****

    On The Road

Milton Jones is back on the road with another tour, this time imaginatively entitled On The Road. If you like the stuff he’s done on Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo or in any of the nine radio series he’s done for Radio 4 then this is the show for you. Bellowhead

Winner of ‘BEST ALBUM’ at the 2013 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards

Since their formation in 2004 Bellowhead have occupied a unique place in Britain’s musical landscape: a blistering 11-piece band fusing folk, funk, rock, world, jazz, music hall and classical music, they have placed themselves at the cutting edge of the contemporary music scene while harnessing all the power and mystery of ancient English and European musical traditions.

Their third album, ‘Hedonism’, was the highest-selling independently-released traditional folk album of all time, sold a staggering 60,000 copies and was awarded a ‘Silver Disc’. And their new album ‘Broadside’ entered the UK album charts at number 16, spawned an A-listed single on BBC Radio 2 and won ‘Best Album’ at the 2013 Folk Awards.

Yet it’s still their explosive, spectacular and theatrical live shows that win them the most acclaim. 5-times winner of ‘Best Live Band’ at the Radio 2 Awards, they have transported folk music into hitherto unknown territory and spearheaded the new folk boom.

They are “the greatest live act in Britain” says BBC Radio 2’s Simon Mayo and the hordes of dancing fans grinning and singing along and treating every gig as a party clearly agree.

Bellowhead hit the road in November for a 17 date tour of theatres and venues across the country.

    Beauty and the Beast Pantomime

Pantomime producers Paul Holman Associates return to the Pomegranate to present the pantomime version of Beauty and the Beast.
Set in the French village of Christimonto, a pantomime playground of fun is set to unravel with madness and mayhem as the foolish Witch Hazel casts a spell on the dashing Count, transforming him into a grotesque beast, condemned to live just two years unless he can be saved by true love.
A host of colourful characters will add to the comedy chaos and capers as the story is brought to life. Doting dame Madame Fifi Camembert brings a touch of colourful couture and culinary failures to the house of Professor Crackpot, the local inventor and father to our heroine Beauty.

With an eye for the ladies, local legend and lothario, Gaston is desperate for a date with Beauty but his muscles and swagger don’t impress. In an attempt to woo her, he tricks Crackpot and sends him off to Paris with one of his crazy inventions.

As the despondent Professor journeys back to Cristimonto via the Beast’s garden, he remembers Beauty’s request for him to return with a red rose but the Beast catches him and the Professor is forced into agreeing to send the first person he meets on his return, back to the Beast. Foolishly he believes Beauty’s dog Fluffy will be the first to greet him but sadly, he lays eyes on Beauty and she is sent to the Cristimonto Castle where the Beast awaits.
Can true love set the Beast free? Only our heroine Beauty holds the power to break Witch Hazel’s spell and help deliver a happy ever after ending!
One thing is certain – it will be a true beast of a pantomime with the beauty of a magical story set to dazzle and delight audiences of all ages.

    Jason Manford

    First World Problems

Please note - this is the same performance as July 2013.
