Viennese New Year
with Sheffield Symphony Orchestra Conducted by John Longstaff


For the 13th year in succession the Sheffield Symphony Orchestra conducted by John Longstaff plays the annual Viennese New Year’s Concert at the Winding Wheel, featuring Andrew Slater (bassbaritone). As ever the programme is a mixture of the well-loved and less familiar items which this year includes the overture Light Cavalry by Suppé, the suite from Bizet’s ever popular opera Carmen, an orchestral selection from My Fair Lady, the Emperor’ Waltz, the Floral Dance, and of
course The Blue Danube. Traditionally sold Winding Wheel Auditorium out – book early!
